Beneath This Armour
A contemporary circus work that unveils the vulnerability hidden beneath the facade of masculinity
“Beneath the steel, there’s a storm. The weight presses down, but it’s not the metal I’m carrying. I want to break open, to breathe, to let the flood move through me… and finally flow free.”
In Beneath This Armour, Jeromy Nuuk invites audiences on a powerful journey into the complexities of masculinity. Blending physical theatre, juggling, clowning, and evocative visual storytelling, the work explores the emotional ‘armour’ men wear to shield their vulnerability.
As layers are stripped away, both literally and metaphorically, the performance reveals the delicate balance between strength and sensitivity. With moments of humour, raw reflection, and surprising physicality, Beneath This Armour opens a rare window into the often hidden emotional lives of men, leaving audiences with a redefined sense of what true strength can really mean.
